| Name: Terry Clarke
After many years of trying Cheddar C.C are finally able to call 'El Tel' one of their own after securing his signature from Bridgwater C.C. Chairman Kirkup secured the transfer after paying 3 slightly sucked sherbet lemons and an agreement from Terry that he would wash off that funny celophane smell. A prominent figure on the Somerset Cricket map for probably the past fifty years the 'Ginger Ninja' or the soon sure to been known 'Silver Fox'
is a tremendous addition to cheddar.
Terry boasts a stunning repertoire both on and off the pitch being able to mix it with the 'best of em' in both cricketing and drinking matters. I'm not sure whether his 6 for on debut or expertise in downing his 'Blackthorn with pickled egg depth charge' was the more impressive.
Terry will surely look around the Sharpham Road oval and shed a nostalgic tear as he plays with such a dedicated bunch of cricketers. Indeed any technical faults or lack of success will clearly be his fault as he taught cricket to all but 2 of the present first team.
Terry's competitive streak and work hard play hard attitude are likely to have a huge effect on the Cheddar boys and he will bring much needed experience to a youthful team...........and on the pitch as well!
