Cheddar Cricket Club
Bryan Sims
Name: Bryan Sims

Born in the Year of Our Lord, 1587, Simmo is known as the Godfather of Cheddar CC. Playing in the good old days, when having a car meant immediate selection. When he eventually hung up his bat Brian turned to Umpiring using his now best two attributes, poor eyesight and poor hearing to full advantage. Known for his financial astuteness, which I am told he inherited from his great great grandfather Jacob Sims. Not many of you will be aware Jacob Sims was involved in a libel case with a famous Victorian writer.
The case was settled out of court with Mr Dickens changing the name to Jacob Marley. Held with great affection throughout the Club, we have this legend to thank for where Cheddar CC is today.
